Yah mon, I gotta be honest, too. I played one Gibson Les Paul for about twenty years before I bought any Carvins, so I have a great attachment to that one! |

#1. Carvin
#2. Hamer (USA)
#3. G&L
#4. Fender
#5. Robin
#6. Godin
Carvin is my #1 because they are generally very high in build quality AND also Carvin has a lot of different models most of which I like.
I've had several Gibson's (LP Deluxe, 2 LP DC Standards) and a PRS CE22 and couldn't warm up to any of them,,, although they all looked and played great,,,, they just didn't do "it" for me in some way. |

Never bonded with a Gibson, eh? Oh well! So you're a Hamer USA fan! I've done some work on a Hamer for a friend, and I started to like it a lot. I can see the attraction there.
Stay tuned,
Stan |

The Les Paul DC Standards I love as far as looks and feel,,,,,,,,,, and the lite weight is great for my back,,,,,,,, they just didn't sound right,,,,,,,,,, I had a trans green and then a trans amber,,,,, now IF I ever came across one in trans blue,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I'd have to try them again AND if it played and felt right BUT didn't sound good to me,, well, I'd be changing the pickups and keeping it. |

Hah! I'd like to get one of those, too! I've seen some beauties in that trans blue. I really don't like the gold hardware with them, though, I think the chrome looks so much better!
And I change out the pickups in most of my guitars anyway, so that's no biggie! Heck, I have a box of Seymour Duncan 'bucker pups out in the garage, just pick your flavor! |

I do love these two axes. I just put new strings on them this weekend, and they are fun to jam on! |

I played the double bucker last weekend, and it looks like her sister is getting the nod for this weekend. Incredible sustain and note bloom from those neck-through solid bodies. |
