Thanks for asking.

I have a '94 BB75 Bass. It's all Koa with the 5 piece laminated Koa/Maple neck. All black hardware. I installed the through-body bridge when Carvin came out with it, and when they came out with that Mondo big humbucker I had to have that, too, so I got brave with a router and dropped it in. And oh yeah, *I Think Your Mom's Calling...Time To Go Home Now* it new, it only had a three-band active eq where you could only cut the midrange (if I remember right), and when they came out with the fully active three-band, I installed that into it also. So basically it has had all the upgrades done to it that have become available over the years. I have also replaced the neck pickup with their H50N stacked humbucking pup. It's a beautiful instrument, and I'm sure it's logged thousands of hours laying down a groove since I've had it.

Then, two years ago I got the bug to try a fretless, so I thought it would be best to have near the same instrument running through an A/B switch into my amp. So I watched Ebay for months until I found a nearly-new fretless LB75 solid mahogany with a 5-piece laminated neck and fully rounded edges. It has chrome hardware and the big humbucker already in it. Great instrument, and what a challenge to play the thing! I've been needing a challenge in the bass department, since I had felt that I had plateaued years ago. Now I feel like I'm growing again.

I will try to take some pics of these two together one of these days and get them posted so they're viewable.

Yeah, they'd make a nice lookin' outfit, now wouldn't they? Some day I oughta find me a DC200 that's all Koa like yours, buddy. I love that wood.

When I ordered the BB75, I asked them to pick out some Koa that was dark colored, and highly figured. Then I waited, and waited. When it got here, and I opened the case, it took my breath away! They did pick out a beautiful piece for me.

The LB75 I scored off Ebay when I was lookin' for a fretless. I had been watchin' for one to match my BB75 (all Koa, and tung oil finish) for about four months when I finally gave up and bought an MTD Kingston. Of course, that did it. The very next week, this one showed up, and I had to have it. The next week, I put the MTD back up on Ebay and broke even on the exchange. A guy about 50 miles from me (Portland, OR) bought it, and drove down to pick it up.
