I dunno, this Blue Bolt will have to be really something for Woody to get jealous. We'll see. We'll see.

If it's anything like my DC200T, it will be a superb player. The only reason I don't use my Carvin over the ES-355 and Legrand at gigs is that it's a solidbody, and doesn't quite have the airy jazz tone as a result, that is important for the music we play. And it doesn't look like a '40's guitar. But it plays better!

I've been watching those old Carvin semi-hollowbodies on Ebay for a couple of years now, and they go for some pretty goof change. I've never played one, but they look very intriguing. I read somewhere that Hagstrom made the bodies for them.

Yeah, it kinda is. I was really looking around trying to score one before I found that. I can't remember where I read it, though. Maybe someone out there can either confirm or squelch that one.

I always thought Carvin made their own, but I guess someone needs to confirm it. |

It was in fact Hofner, not Hagstrom that built the Carvin 225 hollowbody guitar bodies. Those and the current Cobalt models are the only ones Carvin didn't build themselves.

I don't know. But they're built in Korea.

There is a review of the top of the line Cobalt in this month's Guitar Player. It says that they are indeed made in Korea, and it also praises the quality of these guitars.
