Hi, all. I just picked up a fantastic Carvin DC400. It obviously has the active guitar system in it. Funny thing is that when the bridge pickup is selected on the three way toggle switch, BOTH the bridge and neck pickups are on. I checked out the wiring inside, I can see the switch is wired properly, but I have no idea how the active circuit board is supposed to be, as the switch has wires going to the board. Anyone have a picture of how it's supposed to be? Man, I dig the guitar, but I cannot isolate the bridge humbucker, which, is a HUGE part of my sound! Any info/help would be most appreciated, thanks! |

| Welcome to the forum, metal god. I have a DC200T, but I had it built with passive electronics because I'm old fashioned and don't take to new-fangled gear well. I know nothing about active circuits, but I would think a call to Carvin customer service is definitely in order. What you describe doesn't sound right, sounds like the switch was wired wrong. They should be able to fax you a wiring diagram, or may even want the guitar back for warranty repair. This is very unusual for Carvin, it's rare something gets out of the factory that isn't right. Keep us posted, and show us some pics! |

If you email, or call the tech support people at Carvin, I'm sure they would be able to help you with that one. I have two Carvin basses with the active electronic boards in them, but I'm sure they are wired up different than the guitars because they don't have a selector switch, just a blend knob.
Carvin also has an official discussion board that is linked to their site, and you might be able to get some wiring help from that site. Click on this:
