Cool I've got quite a stable of electrics to choose from lately. At last count I think I'm gettin' up close to twenty thorougbreds. Each week, I'll practice with various axes, and try to decide who's gonna step up to the challenge. Over the last few months, most of the time, it's been Sapphire, my Carvin Bolt T. I'm lovin' that little guitar more and more all the time! Very Happy

The two single coils get me all the Strat tones that I want, and the hummer on the bridge gives me all the rock lead tone I need for some songs. The Wilkinson Trem is a stable stay-in-tune unit, and doesn't suck tone off the strings. Very versatile guitar. All the others have to stay home and be jealous. Sorry, girls... Wink

I still can't believe it. Cool Sapphire has really become my Go-To Guitar! Cool She works great for all the styles or music we play, and is a great fit in our mix. Sometimes I wonder why I have all these other guitars sittin' around in cases, just waitin' for an opportunity...

You know, I can't even admit this on some other forums, but Carvin players know what it's all about. Custom Shop value at a Production Line price. On some other forums, I just call Sapphire my Strat-thing! Cool

True FAct, Herb! It's not easy to keep a whole harem happy! Ashley's been whining like a spoiled little kid lately. I'm gonna have to spoil her with a new set of strings or something... Wink

Dern it! It went and happened again. I took my Les Paul to band practice on Thursday night, and by Saturday it was obvious that Sapphire Carvin was gonna get the nod for the weekend, again. Well, you can't argue with success, great tone, perfect action & intonation. I could go on, but you get the point. Cool

Yup. Well, she'll have to sit out this weekend, I'm playin' bass. It looks to be a great weekend on the 5-string Carvin downlow, both fretted and fretless. Cool

Get down wit yer Bad Self! Wink

Well, Sapphire got the nod again this weekend. Thursday night's rehearsal went to Ashley da Tele, but then Friday night I was changin' the strings on Sapphire, and Saturday's mornin' and night gigs went to her. Dang, I love the neck on this girl, but she's turned into a Gig Hog, and the rest of the stable is gettin' mighty jealous! Cool

I love the tones I'm gettin' now. But I still have half a hankerin' to put a set of Kinmans on a pickguard and slap it in there to see what happens.

Signed, the Irreponsible Tinkerer

Sapphire don't play fair, and she don't take no prisoners. But the stakes have been raised, let's see who's got the Mojo to play it out. Cool

At this point in time, I'm waiting for a set of Kinman Woodstock Plus pickups to arrive, and then we'll see if Sapphire can possibly sound any better than she already does...

Update...

At this point, Sapphire has had two different pickguards loaded with Kinmans installed on her pretty face, and both of them have been yanked to go back to her stock Carvin S/S/H configuration.

The Kinmans are just a bit quieter, but the tone isn't that much better, and I've found that having the humbucker in the bridge makes Sapphire more versatile. Cool
