Just for the sake of adding somthing..... I own two AG100 amps. 100 watt , 12" and horn solid state . I also plug in a 822 cab into both. Makes a pretty good acoustic set-up. the AE185 sounds real good with this set-up. I also own a full stack MTS 3200. It sounded O.K., But I put in some hard 6L6`s , rebiased it ,and now it sounds real good. Lots headroom on clean, and good crunch, and full out distortion on the lead . I wish it had that Fender reverb... Can`t have everything..... "Monkey"

Bought the new SX300R rackmount preamp when it first came out. Not a bad amp for being solid state. As for a great sounding reverb, you ought to see if you can find one of the old Peavey Valveverb's, it's the best thing Peavey ever built. Guitar Player mag (I think it was) rated it the best reverb ever made for guitar. Along with reverb it also has tremolo built into it. It's one rackspace in size and uses four 12AX7 tubes. I use it rather then any of the reverb's that came in my various amp's.

Hey toaj, The Valve Verb ? how old are they ?, and are they more lush than an old Fender standalone ? You got me thinkin`. I`ll do some checkin` around. You play bass, or six string ?

I've had mine for 7 or 8 years, I've never had a chance to compare it side by side with the Fender unit but I will say it's the best reverb I've ever heard. I primarily play six string guitars, but do play some bass when I'm recording.
